MRT Player

You don't need to look too hard in any computer to stumble upon at least one music file. To play them an application such as MRT Player is required.

Offering a lot of visual support

Opening the application will pop up several windows on your desktop that only serve a visual purpose. Found under the name of “Spectrum”, they are only a few vertical bars that go up and down depending on the rhythm of the song. There is also another which does the same thing, except with letters that you can enter in a text field. However, there is only one style for each spectrum which cannot be changde. As well as the text you enter will only be displayed in red.
What you can choose though, are skins, and you can find quite a lot of them, making it suitable for any desktop.

A straight forward music player

The visual support mentioned above is only to make the application look like a little more than just an ordinary player. It offers the possibility to play various music file types, and with the click of a button all of them can be selected.
Amongst other features, like the useful playlist, and equalizer that comes with a handful of presets to choose from, there is also an “Effects” option to make your music sound personal. However, there is no default button, the only way to stop the effects being either restarting the player, or adjusting the sliders, which can be a little difficult because of their size.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that MRT Player does its job well, making for a suitable music player. Its attempt to offer a little more on the visual side is acceptable but with too few customization options. Also the amount of audio file types it can play make it worth at least a try.
