MSN7 Task Monitor

As its name suggests, MSN7 Task Monitor is a simple tool that runs in the system tray and interacts with MSN Messenger in order to change your status message description depending on the applications that run on your computer.
MSN7 Task Monitor is compatible with the old version of Windows Live Messenger, formerly known as MSN Messenger. It only works with MSN 7, which provides support for the 'What I Hear' function.
The software provides a simple and clean interface that displays the list of known tasks. Besides that, it only comprises an option to refresh the list and the 'Edit List' button.
The application monitors the running processes on your system and compares them to the list of known tasks. If it detects a known running process, it automatically changes your MSN Messenger status.
The MSN7 Task Monitor Editor can be used to add up to 256 tasks to the list or remove items. When adding a new task, you are prompted to choose one application from the list of running processes, which can be a program or a game.
The next step is to enter a name to be displayed by MSN7 Task Monitor and assign the task a custom message. This message is displayed under your name in the MSN 7 Messenger when the corresponding process is running. Finally, choose one of the the available icon options to show your buddies that you are working or playing games and the new task appears in the Editor window.
MSN7 Task Monitor proved to be a handy tool for older MSN versions. Since MSN Messenger is no longer functional and Microsoft intends to drop support for Windows Live Messenger in the following months (as recently announced), tools such as MSN7 Task Monitor will no longer serve its purpose.
