But, a will is only a shell that in most cases leaves many unanswered questions and holes where parts of the estate can get lost in. Your will may have details such as Moms jewelry goes to Betty and Dads tools go to Tom but do they know know you have a storage unit at Jack Rabbit storage? Would they know that someone owes you money or that you have a safe deposit box at the local bank branch? Would they know you had a mortgage life insurance policy or that as a member of a fraternal organization you qualified for a small term life policy? The My Estate system allows you to catalog all of the assets of the estate into a single location. My Estate uses a unique interview format that will force the user to consider things they would never put into a will but could be of significant value to the estate. The user reviews the simple questions and answers by selecting yes to all of the appropriate areas, such as accounts, policies, remote storage, secure storage, assets and more. Once the interview is completed the system builds a database framework for each item selected. You then go and fill in the blanks to add the information you determine is important.
