My Screen Capture Description
My Screen Capture is a small Windows application designed specifically for helping you automatically take screenshots at a user-defined time.
The advantages of being portable
Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to capture essential data from your screen on the breeze, without having to go through installation steps.
User interface
Looks are not quite impressive, as you are welcomed by a plain interface that offers only a few configuration settings that you can make use of.
The tool embeds all dedicated parameters in the primary panel, so you can easily tweak them. Plus, it offers support for a previewing panel so you can check out the snapshots, and lets you switch to a full screen mode.
Configuration settings and performance
My Screen Capture gives you the possibility to automatically take screenshots at a user-defined time (in seconds and milliseconds), start or stop the capturing process, as well as export the images to JPEG or BMP file format. By default, the program saves the screenshots to the same location where the utility is stored.
The app lets you take snapshots only in a full screen mode, so you cannot capture active windows, objects, and a user-defined region of the screen. Tests revealed that My Screen Capture accomplishes a task quickly but it doesn’t offer very good output quality.
What it lacks
However, several features are welcomed in order to improve the overall functionality of the utility. You cannot specify a custom saving directory, generate a link for each screenshot, carry out editing operations (e.g. insert arrows, rectangles, ellipses, or other geometrical figures, crop pictures, apply special effects), and use hotkeys, just to name a few suggestions.
Bottom line
All things considered, My Screen Capture offers a straightforward software solution for helping you take screenshots at a user-defined time.
