MyCAD Viewer

MyCAD Viewer is an application designed to open and display various types of CAD drawings, such as the ones created with SolidWorks, eDrawing and AutoCAD (DXF and DWG format). It also shows references, drawing properties, and document information.

Prerequisites, setup and GUI

The installation procedure doesn't take long. However, you must have .NET Framework 1.1 installed, otherwise the setup won't run.
Regarding the interface, the tool's wrapped in a single window with a neatly organized structure, where you can get started by opening a CAD drawing via the file browser.

Customize display settings and examine drawing properties

You can preview the drawing in the first pane, select another entry from a preview list, print the document, pan, rotate or animate it, zoom in and out, as well as animate objects. External references and their location in used documents, can be examined in another pane, and it's possible to pick another drawing file to submit it for this kind of analysis.
Furthermore, MyCAD Viewer shows properties regarding the name, type, value and calculated value of the drawing, giving you the possibility to add or remove configurations, as well as to edit their properties. Document information can be investigated in the last pane provided by the main app window. Lastly, you can save drawings in the eDrawing format.

Evaluation and conclusion

It's equipped with advanced, yet easy-to-use options for previewing CAD drawings, analyzing file information, making some changes to the display, and saving them as new drawings. No stability issues were experienced in our tests, and CPU and RAM consumption remained minimal throughout its entire runtime.
Although it hasn't been updated for a long time, MyCAD Viewer still works on newer Windows editions. On the other hand, it requires an old edition of .NET Framework to set up and run.
