myriaCross Album

The Internet is filled with all sort of applications that you could use in order to manage pictures on your computer. One of them is myriaCross Album.
It's a small and simple application for organizing images and cross stitching files, but it could use some more tools. Still, it has some settings that you can adjust and the option to create categories for your files.

Dated and rudimentary graphical interface

The application installs quickly but it sports a really dated graphical interface that could surely use some more work. It's available in English and French, simply pick the language that you're most familiar with.
It doesn't come with any customization options and the toolbar is displayed at the bottom of the window. Still, it has some tips and instructions on how to use the application.

Manage and organize pictures easily

You can browse your computer in order to load pictures or use the drag and drop tool. It supports multiple file formats including music, picture, cross stitching, embroidery, knitting and quilting files. It displays all images into thumbnails and it also shows you their name.
Hover you mouse over one picture and the program will display the file path, type, date when it was created, category, title and size. You can also zoom on thumbnails easily, but the application doesn't allow you to preview images.

Create categories for organizing files

It comes with the option to create all sort of categories for your files so that you can organize them easier. It allows you to pick your favorite pictures and add them to a special category. It also allows you to backup the album database so that you wouldn't lose files.
You can create contact sheets, adjust the number of thumbnails, the sheet size, orientation and the background color. All in all, myriaCross Album is a very useful application for organizing and managing your picture and cross stitching files.
