MySQL Utilities Description
Those who hold MySQL servers need to perform multiple task in order to administer their systems and some might prefer to do so from a command-line based console. MySQL Utilities is an application that was designed in order to provide users with a complete tool for managing their MySQL servers, by using the command line editor.
The application will enable people to access a set of administrative tools that are aimed at helping them maintain and manage their servers with ease.
Since the utility provides its features as set of primitive commands, one will be able to create bundles and use them in order to perform macro operations with single commands.
Written in Python, the collection of utilities can be extended by using the library provided with the deployment package. Accessible from the installation directory or the command line editor, the console can also be initiated from other MySQL applications.
For instance, users who have MySQL Workbench installed on their systems can start the utilities by navigating to the “Tools†menu. Using the set of tools provided, people will be able to perform database operations such as: slave provisions, copying, table comparison or synchronization.
Additionally, high availability operations are also supported, allowing one to set-up and deploy replication processes, add new servers to an existing topology or configure the automatic failover process.
Server operations include: temporary copying, identification of running MySQL servers on a local machine or configuration and usage of encrypted connections.System requirementsMicrosoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package 2013.
