NetworkInterfacesView Description
Network administrators need to keep an eye on a whole bunch of settings. Starting with pure connectivity to data transfer, computer utilities are the tools they work with. Amongst others, NetworkInterfacesView gives anyone the possibility to monitor network cards connected to a PC, as well as various corresponding details.
Can be used on the go
A neat advantage is noticeable before running the application, and we're talking of course about portability. It comes in a light package that doesn't put much pressure on any system configuration and keeps registries clean. What's more, you can easily store it on a USB Flash drive and use on any other computer.
Comfortable and customizable item display
Quite a lot of details are provided and presented to you in a clean, simple and intuitive design. Your workspace is a table representation of all detected items, with various customization options at your disposal.
By default, the table is not fitted with any lines or distinguishable elements for a clear view. However, you can enable a grid, tooltips, a marker for odd and even rows, as well as an automatic size adjustment tool. These greatly come in handy for computers with one too many Ethernet adapters.
In addition, the application gives you full control over what to be displayed. Accessing the column settings lets you pick the ones of interest, with options ranging from device and connection name, to MAC address, registry time, MTU, interface and DHCP info.
Generate and save HTML reports
There's no implemented monitoring system, so as soon as the main window is closed surveillance stops. This has no impact on practicality because the application comes with several export options to put gathered data to good use.
Whether you want to view details only for a specific device or generate a report for the whole list, it only takes a matter of seconds and a few mouse clicks. A HTML report is automatically created in the same clean manner in which details are displayed.
To sum it up
All things considered, we come to the conclusion that, although it does not cover many areas of network monitoring, NetworkInterfacesView only focuses on a simple task an is pretty good at it. The variety of visualization tweaks greatly come in handy, while the possibility to generate reports make sure you have all you need at your fingertips.
