Quite a few users tweak their systems in order to obtain increased performance or save some power when the PC is idle. There are many specialized utilities that can help in this respect and among them there is a special type of tools which can only be used on computers that have certain components on board.
These patches are usually developed to provide a quick fix for a common issue that affects an important number of systems. One such software solution is nForce2 C0/C1/C2 Cooling Patch and it is designed to bring an enhancement onto PCs with a specific configuration.
This piece of kit will allow users to activate a cooling policy that can bring down the temperature noticeably when the computer is experiencing a workload or when idling. The patch targets only a particular type of motherboards, namely those with nForce2 chipsets and AMD processors.
What this patch will do is activate the advanced cooling modes C0, C1 and C2m which will prove a lot more efficient than the basic S1 mode. By applying this change, the temperature values will decrease with up to 10 degrees in idle mode, which makes a great difference in terms of energy savings and prolonged lifespan of the components.
An important mention that has to be made with regard to nForce2 C0/C1/C2 Cooling Patch is that it can be deployed only on specific versions of Windows and this with some possible risks for the computer it is run on.
