NirExt

NirExt is a lightweight program that allows users to customize the Windows-default context menu, by adding options for folder properties, extended shortcuts and command-line parameters for applications.

Improving looks and functionality: a context-menu away

The program operates context-menu changes on three items: folders, shortcuts, and executable files.
This can range from cosmetic updates (for example for folders) to functionality improvements (in case of command line arguments applied to executable files).
The first function, “Folder Properties” allows users to change the folder icons and their tooltips.
“Advanced Run” is the second program function, and it deals with the way executable files are handled. Command line parameters can be specified, but the really nice part is that new applications can be launched in a hidden window, and the process priority can be modified.
