NK2View

NK2View is a lightweight and portable application that enables users to view the content of Microsoft Outlook AutoComplete NK2 files. It packs several useful features and a simple working environment.

The conveniences of a portable app

Since installation is not a requirement, you can just drop the executable file anywhere on the hard disk and click it to run. It is also possible to move NK2View to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation with minimum effort.
What's more, the Windows registry does not get new entries, and leftovers are not kept on the hard disk after removing the program.

View details regarding items, generate reports and backup information

Loading NK2 items into the workspace is done using either the file browser or drag-and-drop method. The list shows the display name, email address, type, AutoComplete value, entry ID, index, recipient type, and email domain for each item.
It is possible to backup and restore files, add items from the address book, use a search function when dealing with large amounts of data, as well as generate reports to CSV, HTML, TXT or XML.

A last assessment

NK2View is very light on the system resources, using a minimal quantity of CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and works well, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or show error notifications. Although it has not been updated for a while, NK2View works smoothly on newer OS platforms, and thus proves to be a useful and reliable piece of software.
