NM-02 Volume Maximizer

Getting a powerful sound is always on the mind of a music producer or a DJ. Then comes the question of how to do that. The first choice would be to increase the volume of the samples and of the instruments. But when you have a large project in front of you, that’s not an option.

It’s a straightforward DSP or digital sound processor that can enhance your sound with a simple turn of a knob. And a knob is all you basically have. It’s range goes from 0 to 24 dB but when you load it into the host and it’s at 0, you still get a boost in the sound. The plugin creates no correlation between the maximum volume of the host and itself’s. This means that the volume that you add with NM-02 Volume Maximizer is stacked over that from the host.
There’s nothing complicated about NM-02 Volume Maximizer and how you use it but there is a slight problem. And that problem becomes bigger as you increase the volume. Depending on the sounds you have in your track and how they work together, you can expect that increasing the volume, the sound becomes grimier and starts to deteriorate the quality. This is because the plugin works on the final output and increases the overall loudness of the song.
In closing, NM-02 Volume Maximizer is a nice little plugin to have around when you want a slight boost in the sound but you can easily overdo it and ruin the sound if you're not careful.
