NTFS Security Manager Description
NTFS Security Manager is a feature-rich software application that gives you the possibility to manage permissions on Windows File Servers, as well as to create custom profiles and templates with various access policies.
Simple setup and advanced configuration
After a brief and uneventful setup procedure, you are greeted by a large window with a professional-looking structure, where you can get started by configuring computer enumeration settings and domain credentials. It's possible to use either the PC browser or Active Directory service.
The program enables you to scan computers, users, groups and shares, grant permissions to other users for shared files and folders, as well as to revoke, modify or copy them.
Manage permissions for shared files and folders
These permissions extend to full control, modification, reading and execution, writing, and special (e.g. read or write attributes, delete subfolders and files). All changes made to permissions along with central access policies are recorded to a history window that you can examine anytime.
Information can be printed or exported to file for closer examination. Moreover, you can set up multiple user connection profiles, conduct advanced search operations to figure out who had full control over files and folders, or save templates with grant and revoke permissions to reuse them later.
Evaluation and conclusion
We haven't come across any difficulties in our tests, thanks to the fact that NTFS Security Manager didn't hang, crash or prompt errors. It had a good response time to commands and left a small footprint on system resources, using low CPU and RAM.
Taking into account its resourceful and advanced features, NTFS Security Manager proves to be a reliable assistant for managing user permissions to shared files and folders.
