OLE/COM Object Explorer Description

OLE/COM Object Explorer is a lightweight and portable application that permits the user to explore OLE and COM objects in Windows Registry, namely the Object Classes, Application IDs, Type Libraries and Interfaces sections.
Since installation is not a requirement, you can simply drop the executable file on any location of the hard drive and just run it.
Alternatively, you may store OLE/COM Object Explorer on a removable storage unit (like a USB flash drive or external drive) and run it on any computer.
What needs to be mentioned is that Windows Registry is not updated with new entries (thus, minimizing the risk of system failure), and no files are left behind on the hard drive after removing the utility.
The tool's packed in a standard window with a well-organized layout and a few options. So, you can explore objects from the sections we have previously mentioned, in order to find out their name, globally unique identifier (GUID), COM class object ID (CLSID), appID, TypeLib or Interface ID.
These details can be copied to the Clipboard for further use, by pressing a button. In addition, you can load the library of a TypeLib object to view its source code, as well as make the app display binary code as hexadecimal code.
The straightforward software tool has a good response time and uses a low-to-moderate quantity of CPU and system memory. It did not cause us any problems in our tests, such as making the operating system freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. Unfortunately, the tool has not been updated for a very long time. To sum it up, OLE/COM Object Explorer is pretty simple to figure out by any user who wants to view details regarding the OLE and COM items in Windows Registry.
