Oracle ODBC driver Description
ODBC Driver is a reliable cross-platform tool that allows you to create and configure a stable connection to the selected Oracle database.
The tool ensures direct connectivity to the desired Oracle server thanks to the Oracle Client Library.
You may thus use a direct connection from your app, to the Oracle database, via TCP/IP protocols, while avoiding filtering the data through an Oracle client.
This feature implies a better management of the data, higher speed in transfers and improved performance for your applications.
Moreover, the data is easily deployed at the indicated location in a quick and effortless manner.
However, the driver also supports connection to the database via the dedicated Oracle Client, in case you prefer it to the TCP/IP-based Direct Mode. In this case, the Oracle Client must be installed.
Oracle ODBC Driver is compatible with various Oracle servers, including Oracle Express Edition and supports both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
You can easily configure Oracle ODBC Driver with the help of the ODBC Data Source Administrator tool in Windows and set it up in the System DSN.
All you need to do is specify the Data Source Name, description, the server name, login credentials and whether or not you wish to use the Direct connection.
In case you prefer the alternative to the Direct Mode, you also need to specify the dedicated Oracle Client.
The Advanced settings tab in the Oracle ODBC Driver Configuration window allows you to select the preferred connection mode (SysOper, SysDBA, SysASM, SysBkp, SysDG, SysKM and Normal). You need to mention the name of the schema you wish to use and optionally the character set.
The tool offers you several options for the required IP version (IPv4, IPv6 or both) and Fetch optimization (balanced, performance oriented or memory usage).
Oracle ODBC Driver features a connection verification algorithm, which can indicate if any errors are encountered.System requirementsOracle Client
