PassBuddy Description
PassBuddy is a user-friendly and easy to understand software solution created to offer you the means of storing all your passwords and other related information in a secure location, where you can access them with ease, should you fail to remember them at any moment.
Simple and functional looks
The first time you run the application, you will need to create an account using a username and passkey, in order to protect the data you store from ill-intended individuals.
PassBuddy comes with its own interface split into several sections, namely ‘Welcome Page’, ‘Forgot My Password’, ‘Add New Password’ and ‘Remembered Passwords’, but you can also open it in a web browser, by accessing http://localhost:5500/.
Keep all your credentials in a secured location and retrieve them when needed
The program enables you to store as many as five hundred different passwords, together with the corresponding username and the website or other resource that it is assigned to.
From the ‘Welcome Page’, you can view some of the memorized entries, while also having the possibility of inserting a new record, using the ‘Quick Add’ form. Nonetheless, PassBuddy features a dedicated section, where you can insert the same data and save the entry to its memory.
These can be displayed in the ‘Remembered Passwords’ tab, where you have the option of deleting or editing certain items, to keep your records up to date at all times.
One aspect that could stand some improvements refers to the fact that when you access your PassBuddy account, it displays your password in full, rather than masking it to prevent anyone looking over your shoulder or monitoring your PC from learning what it is.
A useful password storer
All in all, PassBuddy proves to be a handy and efficient utility functioning as a credentials wallet where you can keep all the usernames and passphrases you do not like memorizing, enabling you to access them at a moment’s notice.
