PassFile Description
It’s generally a good idea to use a unique password for every account you use. However, this can mean you easily forget login details, especially since browsers offer to remember them for you. If you want to avoid situation in which you’re locked out of your own account, you might want to use programs like PassFile.
Compact, intuitive interface
A cool thing about it is portability, which comes with several advantages. On the one hand, you don’t have to go through a setup process to make it work, so it’s possible to carry it with you on a thumb drive. On the other hand, it doesn’t make any changes in registry entries, so you don’t have to worry about the health status of the target PC.
The visual design isn’t really meant to impress, but aesthetics are not the core feature here. In fact, the design is simple and intuitive enough to allow individuals of all levels of experience to quickly get the hang of things. A side panel provides quick navigation through all entries, while the center area holds necessary fields to edit them.
Protect your credentials with a password
The first time you run the program you’re asked to create a master password in order to prevent unauthorized access to your database. The application doesn’t really contain an abundance of fields, but are enough to helps you properly store passwords of interest. As such, you can add resource, user ID, password, and additional notes.
Items can easily be arranged in the database, edited at any moment, and removed if the case requires it. There’s no built-in search tool to easily find items of interest. When not in edit mode, password fields are masked. You have the option to copy either the user ID or the password to clipboard.
