Password Prime Description
Your brain can remember only so many details, and with the variety of online services asking for different credentials, this task quickly becomes close to impossible. Luckily, using a computer has its benefits, and one of them is to use applications like Password Prime to keep your credentials safe, and minimizing the risk of forgetting them.
Little effort required on your behalf
The first thing that shows up on launch is a prompt that asks you to set a master password to protect the whole vault. When this is done, the main window shows up, letting you start adding credentials immediately. Accommodation is not something to worry about, thanks to the simple, but intuitive interface.
Adding an account doesn’t doesn’t take more than a few seconds. This is because of the simple, yet shallow creation window, only asking for the username, corresponding password, and target website, which is not a mandatory field. However, even if you provide the URL, accessing it from the app’s main window can’t be done directly, but rather by using a dedicated function.
Good, but far from being a pro
Password Prime comes with the intention of helping you save existing data, with no help in creating new credentials. In other words, it would have been useful to see a built-in password generator to use for creating new accounts, or changing the old password for existing ones.
Several copy functions are at your disposal, one for each info field. All entries are shown in a list, with the password field being visible by default, with no option to mask it. You need to be sure nothing happens to the application, because there’s no way to save the list to file and load it later on, or simply to carry it around for safety reasons.
In conclusion
Bottom line is that passwords are a common, but secure way of keeping your private stuff safe. Password Prime offers a straightforward approach on management, with an intuitive design and simple controls for individuals of all levels of experience. The overall impression is fair, but could have used more info fields, or at least options to export your list of credentials.
