Password.NET Description
Every online service which requires an account also asks for a password to keep all your info fields safe. Needless to say it gets pretty difficult having to remember all of them. However, specialized applications like Password.NET help you keep all credentials in a safe vault you can even carry around.
Advantages of a portable app
Before you benefit from all the application has to offer, you first need to be sure that .NET Framework is installed on your PC. However, the program itself doesn’t take you through a setup process and is good to go from the moment download is done. As such, you can carry it around and use it on other computers without worrying about the health status, because registry entries are kept intact.
The first time the application is launched you’re asked to create a master password, which is the only way to access the vault later on. Moreover, every failed attempt to access your database is stored in a log file which is displayed on the next successful login attempt.
Intuitive fields and to do list
All details you add are enlisted in a slim panel with name, and user you write down. Apart from these two, requirement fields ask for details or service URL, password, confirmation, and extra info. There’s also a built-in generator to create a random security key at the press of a button. Sadly, you can’t add extra fields.
Interacting with a saved item brings up the set of details, and you can switch the action to simply copying the associated password to clipboard. Last but not least, there’s a to do list in the form of plain text editor where you can write down notes and ideas.
A few last words
In conclusion, Password.NET is a lightweight security measure which is sure to keep all your credentials safe in a password-protected vault. It can easily be carried around on a flash drive to use on other computers and to make sure that only you have access to the database.
