pcAnywhere Remote Control

pcAnywhere Remote Control has been created as a simpler way to remote connect to computers running Symantec’s pcAnywhere software.
The advantage of this utility is that it allows control over the remote machine without having to install Symantec’s tool on the local one.

No installation required

Moreover, there is no need to install the application; suffice to double-click on the executable file in the downloaded archive and the tool launches right away, prompting the user to connect to a machine.
There can be multiple hosts added to the list and the remote control utility automatically verifies whether they are busy or available for access. If the address of the target machine is unknown, pcAnywhere Remote Control offers the possibility to scan the network by its name.

Change the view of the remote screen

When the connection has been established the control tool shows the screen of the remote machine in the interface, with a set of options being available in the upper part of the screen. Among them is the possibility to view the remote desktop in full screen, for a more comfortable experience.
The configuration options available allow the user to enable automatic matching of the local display to fit the remote one. Also, users can lock out any user present in front of the remote computer by disabling the host keyboard and blanking the screen. This way the remote session can be carried out without any interference.

Simple remote control application

pcAnywhere Remote Control integrates a simple set of options that can be easily handled by any type of user, regardless of their computer skills. However, managing Symantec’s pcAnywhere is a different story.
On the other hand, keep in mind that Symantec no longer develops pcAnywhere and that the product may be vulnerable from a security standpoint.
