PCStitch Description
PCStitch is a professional embroidery application built specifically for helping you create cross-stitching patterns.
The user interface may seem a bit overwhelming at a first glance but this is only because the program comes bundled with many editing tools.
You can design a new cross-stitching pattern by providing details about the title, author, and copyright, specify the size of the pattern, enter the number of strands for each stich type, offer information about the fabric, website, company, and logo, as well as encrypt data by setting up read-only passwords.
The tool gives you the possibility to choose between a wide range of colors, create a favorite list with them so you can quickly embed the selected one in the workspace, as well as attach one of the built-in borders.
What’s more, you can insert a background image, rotate, flip, or crop the image, zoom in or out, use an erase and color picker, paint areas with different colors, add columns and rows to the selected design, and add text.
PCStitch lets you undo your actions, perform basic editing operations (cut, copy, paste), create borders, and switch between different viewing modes, such as solid blocks, symbols, or stitches.
Last but not least, you can print or export the design to an image file format and work on multiple cross-stitching patterns at the same time.
During our testing we have noticed that PCStitch carries out a task quickly and provides very good image quality. However, it is not quite friendly with system resources, so the overall performance of the computer may be affected.
All in all, PCStitch offers a handy set of tools for building cross-stitching patterns but it still needs some improvements in the GUI area to make the entire process more intuitive.
