PEdit

PEdit is an efficient and very easy to use software solution developed to help you create customized color palettes for your favorite image editing tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter or JASC Paintshop.
When you launch the program, you will have two different windows to work with, specifically PEdit and 'Select Entry'; they do not function individually. The former allows you to load a particular image you want to work with, of any format. It will be opened in a non-resizable window, to the dimensions of the input photo.
Using the cursor, you can hover over the regions in the picture and in the 'Select Entry' window, you will be able to view its magnified version (you can choose the level from the 'Zoom' menu as 'Strong', 'Middle' or 'Low'), enabling you to pick the exact pixel you want. Clicking on a color will load it into one of the 256 squares, while also displaying its RGB values. This entire process is manual.
Once you have filled the 256-color table, you can use the 'Palette' menu options, to 'Sort and Clean' your colors (meaning it will eliminate duplicates and organize them in a gradual manner), 'Compress' (which will divide colors), 'Convert To Websafe Colors' or 'Convert To Grayscaled Colors'. Moreover, you can 'Shift Palette Left' or 'Shift Palette Right'.
The created color palette can be saved to several formats, so you can use it in any of the aforementioned image editing tools and many others, namely ACT, ACO, Jasc or Painter. At the same time, you can open an existing palette and further edit it to meet your needs.
To conclude, PEdit is an intuitive and reliable application that provides you with the ability to create your own color palettes, requiring a minimal level of effort while also saving you significant amounts of time in the process.
