The Internet is filled with all sort of applications and programs that you could use in order to learn new things and to do your homework faster. One of such applications is Periodic Table.
It's designed as a learning tool and it comes with lots of tools and features that you can check out. The graphical interface is really lightweight with plenty of nice tools at hand.
Lightweight and simple graphical interface
The application doesn't take long to install and it doesn't come with a complicated setup that you would need to complete before you can actually use it. It sports a really intuitive graphical interface with plenty of nice tools at hand.
The application displays an interactive periodic table that can be easily used as a learning tool, to help the beginning high school or undergraduate chemistry student gain insight.
Explore various nice features
The Table tab displays the periodic table with columns forming groups and rows forming periods. Move your mouse over an element to see its name. Click on an element to select it and view its properties.
Use the Groups drop down menu to view element families. It also has a search bar at the bottom of the screen, use it to find elements by typing in the atomic number, symbol or name.
You can check out all sort of details for your elements like molar mass, normal state, density, stable isotopes, melting and boiling points. You can also view molar heat capacity and enthalpy of function.
More features and tools
Ionic number and electron affinity numbers are available for each element in the periodic table. You can check out electron configuration and graphs with various elements and their properties.
You can calculate molar mass for various elements. It would have been nice if it had the option to print or export information to a document on your computer.
All in all, Periodic Table is a simple but very useful application for learning more about the periodic table and all of its elements.
