Pers-O-FE

There are various reasons why a sound recording process can go wrong, or audio is generated at unacceptable quality. Luckily, there are different tools you can use to process existing files in order to fix various defects. Pers-O-FE is one of them, and aims to make the normalize process of WAV files a walk in the park.

Can be used on the go

With no setup involved, you can go ahead and run the application as soon as download is done. This allows you to carry it around on a USB flash drive to use on different computers, without affecting registry entries. However, MK Normalize must be found on the target computer, because this is merely a related front end.
The first time the application runs, you need to use the browse dialog to find MK Normalize, because there’s no built-in function to automatically scan. Even if not found, you can move forward to the actual main window, but don’t expect anything to work. What’s more, you can reset all settings and attempt to load the target executable again.

Lightweight, and easy to use

You can only work with WAV files, and selection needs to be done through the associated browse dialog. Output can be the same as input, but the original file is replaced, so you might want to specify it as well.
In case you used the target application, you’re most likely familiar with all functions, and what they do. On the one hand, amplification options allow you to configure ratio, level, and percentage by simply adjusting related numerical values.
Miscellaneous options are found in a separate panel. These allow you to configure buffer size, and sound level. Batch processing is implemented, and you need to select the specific option. Hitting the Go button puts the process in motion, and it doesn’t take long before the new file is created at the specified location.

In conclusion, Pers-O-FE doesn’t really come with any features of its own, but only wraps everything MK Normalize has to offer in a visual design. It can be a bit tricky to figure out at first, but little effort is required to normalize WAV files.
