Photo Organizer Description
For those who take photos on a regular basis, they often have a complicated file name that is automatically generated for them that can make it hard to organize them. Photo Organizer is an application that allows image files to be moved and / or copied to a specific date-based folder that organizes them automatically.
A functional design that includes all the options within the application on a single window
The interface provided by Photo Organizer is perhaps a bit basic, but it does manage to make the program extremely user friendly. There are no complicated submenus, detailed option menus or hidden supporting features, which is both an advantage and a disadvantage.
The design of Photo Organizer allows users to select the source folder, the destination folder and also if users want, a backup folder. The inclusion of a backup folder as standard is a sensible addition and definitely makes Photo Organizer more robust and sensitive to users needs.
An intelligent system to automatically organize images, that only applies to certain images
The main function of Photo Organizer is automatically organizing images based on their date and so forth, by accessing the EXIF information that is stored inside the image, but difficult to access. Not all images contain EXIF information and for those that don't, the program becomes semi redundant quickly. That being said the application is more designed for images taken with a form of digital camera, and in most cases those include EXIF information.
There are only three additional options contained within Photo Organizer, they are; Read Source Directory Recursively, Remove Empty Folders after processing and Backup Files (creates a copy of all jpg files in source directory). While there could be more options arguably, Photo Organizer does provide enough.
A well designed, efficient program that will solve most, but not all, image organizational problems
In conclusion, Photo Organizer might be a bit basic in its design, but it is more than functional and provides users with a perfectly adequate system for organizing their images. The system will not work with all images, but certainly most and in that regard, Photo Organizer does a reasonable job in saving time by preventing manual organization.
