Photo Recovery Description
Deleting data by accident happens so often that there is no wonder that there are so many applications designed to recover lost files.
As its name suggests, Photo Recovery is designed to get back image files that have been removed from a removable storage device by accident or otherwise.
Short installation routine
The program does not take too long to install and the steps you have to go through represent the usual routine provided with the installation of most application.
Photo Recovery sports a straightforward, intuitive interface that should immediately detect the presence of a removable storage device on the system.
Easy-peasy to work with
It does not provide too many details about the component but it should be able to recognize the total capacity and if there are more than one partitions available.
You can work with it in two modes: one that runs a surface scan in search for deleted files and the other for a deeper scan. Needless to say that the latter should be more efficient but takes noticeably longer to complete.
The progress of the scan is displayed on the screen. This is shown both in percentage and by providing the currently analyzed block, which is a clue for more advanced users rather than the average Joe.
Photo Recovery also makes available a tip for making sure that the recovered data is not partially corrupted. As such, it informs the user that in case the images have grey areas at the bottom increasing the file size in the main application window would fix the problem.
Conclusion
Photo Recovery is far from being a tough program to handle, even by an absolute novice. However, it may not work on all operating system so it would be a good idea to check for OS support before trying it. Also, it may not be able to recover photos from all portable storage devices.
