PhotoBatch Description

Most mobile phones are fitted with powerful cameras, and tons of pictures are taken and uploaded on the Internet on a daily basis. However, file formats can differ, and you might run into compatibility issues if the service you’re using has strict requirements. Luckily, you can use programs like PhotoBatch for easy cropping and conversion.

Advantages of a portable app

Without taking you through a setup process, the application is good to go from the moment download is done. Moreover, it can be used directly from a thumb drive on other computers as well. You just need to make sure that Java Runtime Environment is installed on the target PC for everything to work as intended.
The entire operation is pretty straightforward, with the first couple of steps requiring you to specify input and output locations. This means that you’re not able to drop target files over the main window to get them ready, but multiple file selection is possible inside the browse dialog.

Poor set of editing options

Actual picture processing options are only shown once the pair of folders is configured. A new window shows up, and you manually need to configure loaded pictures one by one. However, you need to be sure of every change, because there’s no list of pictures for free selection, or any way of coming back to an edited image.
A preview area is used to display the current picture, with a resizable box on top which you can use to grab a specific region for output. There’s also an additional slider to adjust brightness. Pictures can be rotated, and the output preview is shown on demand. However, output is always a black and white picture, with three related modes to this operation.

A few last words

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that PhotoBatch mostly comes in handy for creating photo booth like images out of picture files. Unfortunately, output size is considerably small, and a black and white effect is always added.
