PhotoEditor has a name that pretty much sums up its functionality - it allows you to make some adjustments to your image files. Also, it can be easily used by novices.
The interface of the application is based on a standard window in which you can import pictures by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported.
So, you can adjust colors (e.g. contrast, brightness, saturation, equalization), view a histogram, change the background color, reduce colors and convert pictures to grayscale or black and white.
Furthermore, you can enable transparency, resize and resample images, calculate image colors, rotate, flip and merge photographs, read and write hidden text, zoom in and out, apply effects (e.g. blur, edges, emboss, lens), and others.
The image processing tool requires a moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests. On the other hand, there is no help file available.
Also, we had expected to find a wider range of available features (you cannot even configure program settings). Plus, the interface is outdated. We recommend PhotoEditor (with reservations) to all users who prefer a straightforward tool, compared to more complex graphic editing software.
