PhotoLapse Description

PhotoLapse is a tiny and easy-to-use application which allows you to create Audio Video Interleave files from JPG images. It can be used even by less experienced individuals.
Since this is a portable application, installing PhotoLapse is not necessary. It means that you can store the tool on a USB flash drive or any other removable device, save it to any computer and directly run its executable file.
What's more important is that the Windows Registry is not updated with new entries, and no leftover files can be found on the hard drive after program removal. Plus, it is easy to carry PhotoLapse with you whenever you're on the move.
The interface of the tool is plain and uncomplicated. Thanks to the Explorer-based layout, you can seamlessly locate and select images for processing. So, you can reverse the movie and make PhotoLapse check for errors when loading, as well as configure video settings when it comes to the compressor, key frame, data rate and others.
The simplistic video processing program runs on a moderate quantity of CPU and system memory, quickly completes a job, and has a good response time. We have not come across any issues during our evaluation; PhotoLapse did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs.
On the downside, the interface needs some major improvements concerning its appearance. Plus, PhotoLapse has limited features; for example, you cannot minimize the app to the system tray area or make it open the output directory when the task is done. But we must keep in mind the fact that PhotoLapse has not been updated for a long time.
