PhrozenSoft VirusTotal Uploader is an intuitive piece of software that allows you to check applications for any viruses via VirusTotal.com, straight from the desktop. It includes powerful, yet easy-to-use options.
At startup, the app creates an icon in the system tray area that enables quick access to the main application window. Adding files for virus verification is done using the file browser. The drag-and-drop feature enables you to add files to either the primary panel or small dropbox on the bottom right corner of the screen.
During a task you can view the app's name, image path and status. It is possible to pause it to resume at a later time, copy the full line or any of the details to the Clipboard, as well as view file properties (similar to Windows Explorer).
Results show the status, detection rate, scan date and time, message, permalink, along with MD5, SHA1 and SHA246 checksums for each application checked in the last PhrozenSoft VirusTotal Uploader session.
For every new completed job a message pops up on the bottom part of the screen (with sound notification), along with a window containing the name, result, version and last update for each antivirus product in VirusTotal.com that verifies the app in question. Apart from rescanning it, you can open the program in the VirusTotal website for additional details.
Other options of PhrozenSoft VirusTotal Uploader lets you submit a current active process, autostart entry, service or network service for virus verification, among others.
The application quickly finishes an uploading and scanning job, using low CPU and RAM. We have not come across any problems in our testing, since PhrozenSoft VirusTotal Uploader did not hang or crash.
