PicturExtractor

PicturExtractor is a tool whose main purpose is to help you take screenshots of your desktop, but it is also equipped with cropping capabilities.
This app comes with a nice, user-friendly interface and a clean layout. While the various features can be accessed from a special box, most of the UI concentrates on the screen capture that has been taken or the loaded picture.
The program gives you a series of options for taking snapshots: you can either capture the entire desktop area or just the active window. The interface shows the image at full size and you can either drag it around to see the details or use the zoom in/zoom out feature for a better look. Also, from the interface, you can see the exact size of the captured image.
You can either capture the entire desktop or a selected active window. However, you can also open pictures from your disks. The “Extract selection” option, which is basically the crop function, can be applied to both screenshots and loaded images.
The program only supports a few file formats, namely JPG, JPEG and BMP.
All in all, PicturExtractor is a nice, simple app, with an easy-to-use interface that shouldn't raise any problems for less experienced users.
