Can be used on the go

The application was built on the Java Runtime Environment framework, so you need to make sure it is installed on the target computer. On the other hand, Piggybudget itself doesn’t require installation, meaning you can take it around on a USB flash drive. As such, system registries remain intact, because they don’t need to be modified for things to work out.
On the visual side of things, the application manages to do a good job at getting you acquainted with the set of features, with elements neatly organized and structured in different categories. Most of the space is where all income and expense entries are shown, while functions are triggered from a side panel.

Automatically updating database

By default, the application is only fitted with an abundance of different categories from which money can come from, and more where it can end up. These are all empty, but configuring an account, income, or expense requires little effort.
For instance, you can set regular incomes to be automatically added to a specific account, which can represent salary, or any other custom category. The same goes for expenses, with the preview table being automatically updated as you add data. Unfortunately, there’s no possibility to build reports, so you constantly have to keep an eye on the application.

However, it comes with the right means to manage home or personal flow of cash, with options to set recurring incomes and expenses, with details updated in real time. It can even be carried around to always be able to check and update your account info.
