Pixie

Pixie is a tiny and portable color picker that can be used in any software environment or desktop. It comes in handy for graphic editors when it comes to quickly selecting a color.
Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can drop the executable file to a custom directory in the hard drive and just click it to run.
There is also the alternative of saving Pixie to a pen drive or other removable device, in order to run it on any machine with minimum effort and without prior installers.
An important aspect to take into account is that the Windows Registry does not receive new entries, and files are not left behind on the HDD after removing the tool.
The interface is made from a very small window that you can move to any position on the screen with the mouse. It stays on top of other applications and you cannot disable this option.
In this panel you can view the current position (in pixels), hexadecimal value, HTML code, as well as RGB, CMYK and HSV values of the current color where the mouse is hovering.
Hotkeys are revealed when moving the mouse over the program frame. These enable you to copy the HTML code, bring up a color mixer with the current color's information, as well as pop up a magnification screen. The tool can be minimized to the system tray area while active, in order to make it non-intrusive.
The simple-to-use program barely uses CPU and RAM, as expected, so it does not affect the overall performance of the computer. It has a good response time. Unfortunately, the option to copy a color's HTML code did not work during Softpaz evaluation. We must also take into account that Pixie has not been updated for a while.
