There’s a lot more to computer customization than what can be found in default Windows features. With this in mind, an abundance of third-party applications got developed over the years to enable the same functionalities for features, but through different means. For instance, PiXies+ can help enhance the desktop with a calendar, web search bar, and more.
This isn’t an ordinary stand-alone product, and it needs to be integrated into Rainmeter to be able to use all of its components. These don’t have to be enabled at the same time, with the possibility to pick from, or combine elements like calendar, search bar, launcher, and notepad.
Appearing on the screen as soon as they’re enabled, components can be arranged around the desktop in any way to blend in with other customization elements, or even the wallpaper. General Rainmeter options can be used in order to set transparency, top layer priority, hide on mouseover, made clickable, draggable, and more.
In case default options are not really enough to meet demands, editing is done through an INI configuration file. The process doesn’t require much effort. Suitable editing examples are for the launcher, which can be configured to provide quick access to other elements than the default structure, or the search bar to use a different engine than Google.System requirementsRainmeter
