Plastiliq ImageResizer

As the name implies, Plastiliq ImageResizer is created with the purpose of resizing images. A useful fact is the possibility of processing more images at once, and you can even use this tool for converting them (JPG, BMP, TIF and PNG).

Add various types of photos to resize in seven ways

It’s pretty straightforward and has a basic interface but, at the same time, offers many options for image resizing. You can add BMP, JPEG, PNG and TIFF images to the window by using the built-in file browser (to search and select the desired pictures from your computer) or simply by dragging and dropping them. More so, you can even add an entire folder to resize all containing pictures at once.
There are seven resizing modes available through a dropdown menu: by width and height, by percentage, fit and desktop. The aspect ratio can be preserved or disregarded, and you can adjust the width and height (pixels).

Convert images and configure program settings

The other dropdown menu is for setting the file type of the pictures. Besides the fact that it can preserve the original format, the tool is also an image converter, giving you the possibility to save all output files with the same extension (JPG, PNG, TIF or BMP). The new images can be saved in any directory you specify.
In the settings panel you can choose the language and instruct the application to include or exclude subfolders, keep or ignore the original date and time, overwrite any existing files inside the destination folder, and to play or disable sound when the process is complete. Regarding the JPEG format, you can check to copy metadata and also select the level of quality.
However, the program could have given its users the possibility to preview the full-sized images before making the changes. Sadly, it only has thumbnail view.

Few final words

In conclusion, the program offers what is expected of a photo resizer but nothing special. When it comes to pros and cons, Plastiliq ImageResizer is a free tool, available in different languages and extremely easy to use, but it doesn’t have richer features. On top of that, we’ve encountered several issues in our tests, like images we tried adding to the task list but failed because they couldn’t be identified by the app.
