Portable Addressido

Made as the portable counterpart of Addressido, Portable Addressido is a lightweight application that you can use to create an address book with the personal and business information of your contacts, which you can carry on a USB flash drive to take it with you everywhere you go.

Prerequisites and interface

Although the name indicates that it's portable, the software tool is not standalone. It was built using .NET Framework, Microsoft's platform, so you must have it installed on your computer. On the other hand, it can be launched from any directory on the disk. It doesn't add new entries to your system registry.
The interface is user-friendly, represented by a large window split into three panes for getting an overview, managing address details, and sorting activities.

Create contacts and activities

New contacts can be put together by specifying the first and last name, company, title, category, work and home address, birthday, notes, email addresses and websites, as well as custom fields with any important data that's not already listed in this area.
It's possible to create and manage categories to be able to sort contacts by various criteria, remove any contact from the database if you change your mind, as well as to get an overview with all contacts from any selected group. In the last pane you can create activities by adding a date, action, notes and direction.

Evaluation and conclusion

The utility comes equipped with straightforward options and configuration settings for building an address book with contacts and activities. It used a low amount of system resources in our tests, due to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly.
The tool remained stable throughout its runtime, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or prompt errors. Too bad that Portable Addressido hasn't been updated for a long time.
