Portable EXIF Viewer

Portable EXIF Viewer is a feather-light software application that enables you to find out EXIF information of JPEG photos, as the name clearly says. It features just the essential settings for achieving this task, so it can be easily handled by anyone.

Portability perks

Installation is not required, which makes the tool portable. You can save it to any part of the hard disk and click the executable to immediately launch the app, as well as copy Portable EXIF Viewer to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no other installers.
An important aspect worth keeping in mind is that it does not create new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu, so no traces are left behind after its removal.

Plain-looking interface with clear-cut options

The GUI is user-friendly, based on a classical window which does not contain any visually striking elements, but it is simple to navigate. You can indicate a JPEG image using either the file browser or drag-and-drop method.
Portable EXIF Viewer immediately shows EXIF data in the main frame and lets you make a custom selection to copy it to the Clipboard. Unfortunately, it does not implement options for printing data or exporting it to file. Apart from the fact that you can switch to another UI language, there are no other noteworthy options available here.

Evaluation and conclusion

We have not come across any type of issues in our tests, since Portable EXIF Viewer did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. It is very responsive to commands and runs on low CPU and RAM, so it does not hog system resources.
Although it does not contain a rich set of features, Portable EXIF Viewer gets the job done and can be easily used by anyone.
