Portable Tommi's Roman Numeral Converter

This is the portable counterpart of Tommi's Roman Numeral Converter, an easy-to-use program that facilitates conversion from Arabic to Roman numerals and vice versa. It features basic and advanced options to please all types of users. However, all of them are easy enough to configure even by those with little or no experience with software applications.

Portability advantages

Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can put the app directory in any part of the hard disk and just click the executable file to run. Another possibility is to save a copy on a USB flash disk or other mass storage device, in order to run it on any PC directly and without previously installing anything.
Worth taking into account is that the tool does not modify the Windows registry settings, and it creates extra files on the disk only with the user's permission. Therefore, it does not leave any unwanted items behind after its removal.

Clean and intuitive interface

The GUI is pretty user-friendly, although not particularly attractive. Tommi's Roman Numeral Converter sticks to a regular window with a neatly organized layout split into two panels - basic and advanced conversion mode.

Convert numbers in basic or advanced mode

In basic mode it is suffice to type or paste the Arabic or Numeral number and click a button to find out its counterpart in an instant. By entering advanced mode, you can either specify an external file to convert, or indicate a range of numbers. Once the output directory and file name are established, the results can be generated in a plain text document. Apart from the fact that inexperienced users may consult a help file, there are no other notable options provided by this tool.

Evaluation and conclusion

CPU and RAM usage was minimal during our evaluation, as expected, and the tool converted numbers very quickly and error-free. It did not hang or crash. All in all, Tommi's Roman Numeral Converter lends a hand to all users needing to rapidly convert numbers from Arabic to Numeral form and vice versa.
