PrtSc Now Description
A regular keyboard is fitted with well over a hundred different buttons, and this does not include the secondary function when holding down the Shift key. There’s even a button to capture an image of the screen, but using it alone is not really a practical mode. As such, specialized applications like PrtSc Now want to help squeeze more out of it.
Lightweight and easy to use
You’re free to check out the set of features as soon as download is done, because there’s no setup involved to make it work. As such, PrtSc Now becomes your very own screenshot tool you can easily carry on a thumb drive and use on other computer, without worrying that the health status is affected, because registry entries remain intact during runtime.
The moment you launch the application, a splash-screen shows up indicating that the way to trigger the core function is to hit the printscreen button on your keyboard. When this is done, a window shows up with a set of available controls, as well as a preview section to view the captured image.
Choose how to handle screenshots
There aren’t many controls at your disposal, but they do provide some degree of flexibility in the sense that it can take time to capture and save pictures on the long run, because there’s no option to have images automatically saved.
What you do gain control over is how to process pictures. One simple tool is to have the image cropped, and this is easily done by dragging a box over the region of interest. To terminate the process, you can have the picture opened in Paint or a custom program, or save the image as a JPG file.
In conclusion
To sum it up, PrtSc Now doesn’t really help you save pictures faster, but offers a dialog to decide how to handle grabbed screenshots. There’s no setup involved, so you can use it on the go. Overall, it’s just a simple extension to help open the picture, crop, or save.
