QuickGamma Description
Most graphics drivers nowadays come equipped with various settings in order to tweak colors so that you get the desired feel, or adjust a broken display. It all becomes easier with the help of specialized applications such as QuickGamma that promise to let you do exactly what the name suggests: adjust screen gamma on the fly.
Quick and easy deployment
The application requires a light and fast installation procedure so that it can properly run. This is due to the fact that it does not simply add a colored layer over your desktop, but rather creating a default profile for your operating system's display settings.
Lets you instantly get accommodated
You are greeted by a comprehensive interface that does not take a lot of accommodation. However, right after the setup process is done, the provided help manual is automatically brought up, as you are strongly suggested to go through it before messing around with default colors.
Real-time preview of color changes
A preview section displays outer and inner bands of same gray levels as well as two levels of black so that you get a better view of how changes affect the display. Controlling colors is not rocket science, as you mostly handle a “+†and “-†button in order to increase or decrease the amount of colors.
Individual management of colors
Red, green and blue can be altered together, or you can hit the dedicated “Gamma†button to manage them individually, while keeping an eye on changes with a different preview section displayed.
Once you are happy with the new configuration, you can save settings by clicking “OK†and the application automatically overwrites the default display profile with your new changes. Remember the default values though, as there is no option to revert changes and you might end up with colors being altered.
In conclusion
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that QuickGamma is indeed a fast method to manage basic monitor colors. It can be used for your default monitor or an external one, while the integrated help manual makes sure you don't mess up your display.
