Raven Security is a reliable tool that is capable of detecting threats, malicious files and viruses on your computer. The application can perform localized, fast or in-depth scans, in order to detect malware or other dangerous files. Moreover, after detection, it allows you to move the files to quarantine or delete them.

Multiple scanning methods

Raven Security allows you to keep your computer safe from virus infection, by detecting threats on local disks and USB drives. The program can perform various types of scans, both fast, superficial and in-depth. Thus, the Quick scan is optimized for analyzing all locations that are most likely to be infected.
The Full scan manages all drives, folders, files and attached media devices, while the Target scan allows you to select a particular folder. Subfolders are also included in the Target scan. The Rootkit option is dedicated to detecting rootkit infections in the Windows installed directory, while Special scan handles items in all special folders and vulnerable locations.

Regular database updates

Raven Security comes with a virus database which is updated when you open the program or on demand, from the designated tab. This database contains all the virus definitions and allows the program to properly run, which is why it is important that it is up to date when you scan your system.
When a scanning process is finished, the software displays a short report, including the number of analyzed files and infections. However, as soon as a virus is detected, a notification window is prompted, inquiring about the follow-up: you may move the infected file to quarantine or safely delete it.

Protection by system scanning

Raven Security is a reliable and capable tool, however, it can only help you maintain your computer safe as long as you perform the scans. It does not support automatic, scheduled scans and does not allow you to scan a particular file.
The program also features a real-time protection option, however, it’s detection ability might be limited, since it cannot identify virus test-files. An in-depth scan is a simple solution to finding risky files.
