RealSPEED Connection Speed-Up Utility provides the possibility to increase the current performance of the connection by changing specific network-related parameters.
It supports modem, cable, ISDN, xDSL, satellite and T1 connections but it is not limited to these as it can detect the type and apply the necessary tweaks automatically.
The application is suitable for both beginner users and the more experienced ones as it features two working modes; one is wizard-driven while the other allows typing in the values manually.
In the wizard mode the application applies the best configuration settings in order to achieve the maximum performance from the connection.
Working with it in advanced mode allows manual input of the values and turning on some features. It offers the choice to change the maximum segment size (MSS)as well as the maximum transmission unit (MTU).
On the same note, there is the possibility to turn on or off the speed-up feature for the communication ports and the compression of the IPX header.
Among the TCP/IP related settings there are entries for modifying the time-to-live (TTL) value and the receive window size.
The advanced mode is designed for expert users that want to tweak certain aspects of the connection in order to make the most of it.
RealSPEED Connection Speed-Up Utility also allows reverting all the settings to the default Windows values.
