RECOVER Fixed/Floppy Disk FAT32/16/12 Description
RECOVER Fixed/Floppy Disk FAT32/16/12 is a console-based analysis software for data recovery from floppy disks. It can help retrieve lost data from these storage devices in an automated way even if the diskette was formatted by accident.
The analysis tool shows all the items that are available for recovery. Even if it is a command-line tool the product is partly automated and allows selecting the type of floppy disk the recovery attempt should target. Support includes disk types with storage capacity from 360KB to 1.44MB.
The application detects the drive automatically and then attempts to run an analysis in order to assess the amount of data that can be recovered.
During the procedure it lists the total data sectors, the amount of data sectors that are okay as well as the full number of data sectors that are damaged. Depending on the user specification, the tool runs either at folder level or at file level.
Keep in mind that this is just an analysis tool and the actual recovery of the data can be done with a different application.
The utility comes with sufficient documentation to get the entire assessment started. The syntax and the parameters are easy to understand and working with it is mostly automated.
