RegEditX

RegEditX is a very nifty utility that enhances user experience when it comes to performing various operations in the Windows Registry.
Due to its nature of handling critical system areas, it primarily caters to users with some notable background in fiddling with the Registry Editor tool.
The application implements the same interface that users are already accustomed to (i.e. Registry Editor), and lets them manipulate sensitive registry information easier.
As the GUI is familiar, you can use the folder structure to navigate the registry hives and locate particular keys for editing.
It is possible to create backup copies and restore the registry, load and unload hives, connect to a remote registry, as well as to create new keys and values (e.g. string, binary, multi-string, expandable string) by using the menu entries on the upper part of the panel.
Furthermore, you can manage permissions for a selected key, copy key names to the Clipboard, use a search function throughout the registry, view binary data, and create a favorites list.
RegEditX is very responsive to key strokes and mouse events, and uses a very low amount of CPU and RAM, so it does not put a strain on system performance or interrupt normal user activity. We have not come across any technical issues in our testing, since the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.
When it comes down to it, RegEditX is a good alternative to Registry Editor, and it comes in handy to any experienced computer user.
