Resolution Changer SX2 Description
Resolution Changer SX2 is a simple-to-use software application which permits users to seamlessly modify their screen's resolution from the system tray area.
It comes packed with preset profiles, making the program suitable even for users with little or no experience in such software.
The installation operation is quick and does not require special attention. At startup, Resolution Changer SX2 creates an icon in the system tray area, thus enabling users to choose options from a menu.
It is possible to select the color depth between 32-bit, 24-bit and 256 colors mode, view current resolution settings (size, color depth and frequency), as well as open a list with all available resolutions and pick a profile to immediately apply it to the screen.
In addition, you can bring up a large panel where you can specify four favorite resolution profiles as the default items to show in the tray icon context menu, in order to toggle them even easier. Unfortunately, this option did not work properly during our tests.
On Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, the tool listed only the fourth default item in the right-click menu. On top of that, Resolution Changer SX2 does not integrate a confirmation dialog to keep the new modifications and switch to previous settings after several seconds of idle state, similar to the Windows built-in options, in case the monitor does not support the respective profile and displays a black screen instead.
Resolution Changer SX2 barely uses CPU and RAM, so it does not hog system resources. It has a good response time and works well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Apart from the previously mentioned issues we have come across, the tool should please all users looking to seamlessly toggle numerous screen resolution profiles.
