Responding Partner

Responding Partner uses speech recognition to help you control the computer with the power of your voice. Aside from that, it provides a conversation partner that you can talk to anytime.
Once installed, the application displays a fun animated character onto the desktop, in the form of a radio microphone. Alis, because that is its name, starts giving you instructions on how to use the program.
The 'Options' window is the place where you can manage voice commands and controls. Responding Partner comes with a predefined set of commands that allow you to communicate with your new virtual friend. Each voice command has a corresponding answer that is spoken out loud by Alis.
Unfortunately, existing commands cannot be edited. Nevertheless, the application enables you to add new commands to the list that are immediately recognized by Alis.
You can use Responding Partner to perform basic tasks, such as opening a file, running a program or launching a URL using the default web browser, shutting down or restarting the computer and logging off the current user. In addition to this, Alis can play the role of a personal assistant that types in text in a word processing application.
Also, the application can be assigned functions for closing a running program or reading words out loud. Its functionality can be enhanced further by using the 'Plugin' section.
As expected, the accuracy of the application highly depends on your pronounciation skills. Native English speakers shouldn't have problems in this matter, but foreigners might have to repeat the same command twice or more.
Responding Partner acts as a desktop assistant that executes commands you speak out loud. It is fun to have around, enabling you to use your voice to perform specific actions, thus easing your work and improving your performance.
