Ringtone Creator Description

Since the mobile phone became a pretty personal virtual space, customizing it is among the first operations. One basic area here is the ringtone, which isn’t more than an audio file you want to play when a call is received. What’s more, you can easily create your own with the help of applications like Ringtone Creator.

Can be used on the go

Note that the application doesn’t require installation to function, so you can go ahead and take it for a spin as soon as download is done. It can perfectly fit on a thumb drive in case you want to carry it around, but you need to make sure that the target computer is fitted with .NET Framework.
The application aims to read your iTunes library, but functionality issues might keep it from properly being able to do this. On the other hand, you’re free to import existing songs from your computer, which can be under various different formats. There’s no preview for songs, so you need to be sure you load the file of interest.

Leaves much to be desired

The lack of a preview option is a bit disappointing, because you can’t choose the exact portion to chop. In fact, you’re only limited to 20, 30, or 40 seconds for length, which always counts from the beginning, with no option to manually specify start and end times.
Last but not least, you need to tell the application where to save the new file, and under what name. However, it only generates a ringtone under the M4R format, which might not be suitable for all mobile phone makes and models.

A few last words

Bottom line is that a custom ringtone isn’t really hard to get or create, and Ringtone Creator aims to make the creation process easy. However, it needs a lot more work on general functionality, while built-in edit options leave much to be desired, mostly because you can’t pick a section of interest.
