RunAs Launcher Description
RunAs Launcher is an application that facilitates a simple solution for launching installed or portable programs with the login credentials of other PC users. It contains intuitive options that can be tacked even by beginners.
Clear-cut interface and options
The program doesn't put emphasis of the graphical elements of the interface, preferring to focus on functionality instead. It has a single window that reveals all options you can tinker with.
The .exe file of a program can be indicated using the file browser only, since the drag-and-drop feature is unsupported. All you have to do is enter the preferred PC user name and correct password, and click a button to run the app on the spot with the specified credentials.
If you're an advanced user, you can input command-line arguments to enhance the program's functionality. Moreover, you can save the current profile to load it in the future session.
No setup required, besides .NET Framework
RunAs Launcher is wrapped in two files that can be dropped in any part of the hard disk or stored on a removable storage unit, in order to double-click the .exe and run the tool on any PC. However, .NET Framework must be installed, otherwise it won't work.
It doesn't integrate new entries into your system registry. However, it updates its .config file to remember your settings, so make sure you're not running it from a write-protected device.
Evaluation and conclusion
We haven't experienced any stability issues throughout our evaluation, since it didn't freeze, crash or show error notifications. As we expected, it used a low amount of CPU and RAM, so it didn't hog system resources.
RunAs Launcher may not be as flashy as other applications that focus on appearance, but it offers a straightforward and effective solution for running programs with different computer user names and passwords.
