Safedisc 2 Cleaner

Safedisc 2 Cleaner is a lightweight and portable software application which enables you to unwrap files protected with SafeDisc or SafeCast 2. It contains just a few settings that let you easily dive into the entire procedure in just a few clicks.

No installation required

As there is no setup pack involved, you can save the app directory to a custom location on the disk and just click the executable to launch Safedisc 2 Cleaner. Another possibility is to save it to a USB flash disk or other removable storage unit, in order to run it on any computer with minimum effort and no previous installers.
An important aspect worth keeping in mind is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not receive new entries, and no extra files are created on the disk without your permission, thus leaving it clean after removal.

Easy-to-use interface with few settings

The GUI is based on a single window with a plain and simple structure, where you can point out the EXE or DLL file protected with SafeDisc 2 using the file browser only, since the drag-and-drop method is not supported.
It is possible to keep the file size or shrink it, select the API method and optionally enable a loader. There are no other notable options provided by this software utility.

Evaluation and conclusion

The program does not put a strain on computer performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. It is very responsive to commands and unwraps files quickly. However, it crashed a couple of times during our evaluation while we were tinkering with the settings in the main frame. However, we must also take into account that Safedisc 2 Cleaner has not been updated for a while. Otherwise, this application gets the job done and offers an efficient method to unwrapping SafeDisc 2-protected files.
