Sample Grabber

Sample Grabber is a simplistic piece of software designed to help you with only one task: to extract samples of sound that contain strong percussive events.
Simply put, the program uses an advanced algorithm to detect sounds produced by percussion instruments, after which they are highlighted so that you can easily extract what may be considered the most recognizable part of any tune.

User-friendly program for extracting percussive samples

Probably the first thing you need to know regarding this small and lightweight app is the fact that in its current development stage, it only works with WAV. This said, chances are that you might need to convert most of your music files to work with Sample Grabber.
This might seem like a bit counterproductive, but the app partly makes up for this drawback with its accessible controls. Speaking of simplicity, its interface can be best described with the help of one word: streamlined.

Efficient audio extractor, but there is still room for improvements

Working with the program is by no means an inconvenience, as you only need to load the source file, play it until the app automatically detects a percussive event and then  play the sample once or continuously. If you are happy with the result, click the designated button and the app automatically extracts the sample and saves it to the same destination as the source file.
This would be a good time to point out that, besides the fact that it only works with WAV files, Sample Grabber has two more disadvantages. As expected, one drawback is the fact that it does not support drag and drop for loading files, while the second one is the fact that it does not allow you to choose the destination for the output sample.

A good starting point for further development

All in all, Sample Grabber is a lightweight software solution for extracting percussion events from audio files aimed at those who do not want to go through complicated processes in order to do this with other full-featured audio tools.
The fact that Sample Grabber was designed to be as simple as possible is quite evident, but this is not to say that it would not benefit from a few extra basic features. Nonetheless, with time, Sample Grabber might just become one of the most useful audio tools for extracting percussive events.
